Lead magnets. Landing Pages. Funnels.  Automations. Dripfeeds. Evergreen. List Building… What do these all mean, and why do you need to know all about them to start creating a successful business online?

Until I started my business, I thought a funnel was just a plastic implement designed to get a substance from one vessel to another without spillage.  Evergreen is a type of tree that keeps its leaves all year long and list building is what I did when I scribbled multiple lists in preparation for going on holiday. But if you hear these words and phrases being batted around online by the “experts” and you haven’t the foggiest if your funnel is automated, or if your lead magnet converts, or what even is a landing page, I’ve got you covered – no more nodding along pretending you understand.

You’ll be talking the talk in no time, and not only that, you’ll have a solid idea of what these terms mean and how to make sure you’re rocking every one in your business!

Let's discover...

Simply put, an automation is an action that is taken based on what someone has selected or requested. It's something that happens without you having to lift a finger (once it's all set up in your systems, of course!).

Automating regular tasks in your business can free up your time to do other things, whilst you know the appropriate actions are being taken in the background by your clever system!

Automations are an integral part of your funnel or customer journey and here are some examples of how they work:

Automations are an integral part of your funnel or customer journey, and here are some examples of how they work:

Automate your…

Funnel – When someone subscribes to your mailing list, what happens next? How do they receive their lead magnet or a welcome email? Yep, we automate those!

Evergreen courses - the idea with an evergreen course is you create it once, and sell it over and over again.  We set up automations to ensure that once someone has purchased from you, everything your customer needs is sent out automatically.

Asking for feedback – Do you hate asking for feedback or never remember to do it? Set up an email to be sent out a short time after someone has purchased from you or completed your course - this feedback is invaluable to your future marketing!

Social Media – Do you spend hours scheduling your blogs, podcasts and regular posts to your social media pages and groups? Yep, we can automate that too!

Remember, automations have to be set up first before they can work properly! There is an initial time investment which will save you tonnes of time further down the line!

There are so many different parts of your business you can automate, but there are some systems better at automations than others.

My ultimate recommendation for creating email funnels,  courses and membership sites that are easy to automate and make evergreen is always Simplero.

A paid version of Mailchimp can also work well for automating your emails.

I've recently been introduced to a system called Meet Edgar by a client, who uses it for scheduling her regular social media posts, and I have to say, I'm impressed! I used to spend 2 hours per month scheduling another client's regular social media posts for her to her various groups, and after an initial set-up time investment, it has more than halved her outsourcing costs. Her information is still being shared across her groups and pages, and it has freed up my time to work on improving her memberships and customer journeys! YAY!
