You’ve built your course on Simplero. The tech’s there, the content’s amazing… so why isn’t anyone buying it? Let’s take a look…
So you poured your heart into creating the most amazing online course. You stayed up late perfecting every lesson, recorded and re-recorded videos, created beautiful workbooks, and finally hit publish with a nervous flutter of excitement in your chest…
And then… crickets. I see it all too often, and let’s face it, it really sucks and knocks your confidence. I hate that for you.
Let me start by saying this loud and clear: Your course isn't the problem. You did a brilliant job creating it (so stop being hard on yourself here!).
The value is there. But if you’re wondering why the sales didn’t roll in like you hoped — let’s unpack three brutally honest possible reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with how good your course actually is.
1. You Only Show Up When You're Launching
Oof. I know this one stings, but we’ve got to talk about it and rule this one out first (or fix it if it rings true).
This is on you, whether you show up yourself, or you invest in a team who can make this easier for you. There is value in this investment.
If your audience only hears from you when you’ve got something to sell, they’re unlikely to be biting your hand off to buy from you when you make your big announcement — no matter how incredible it is.
Your audience is being bombarded daily with emails, social posts, stories, reels, DMs, pop-ups, promos, and ads. What makes them stop scrolling or open your message?
Consistent, value-driven content.
People buy from people they know, love, and trust. That trust isn’t built overnight (or on launch day!).
If you haven’t been nurturing your audience with helpful content, stories, insights, tips, and transformation consistently before your launch, they’re not going to whip out their wallets just because you’re suddenly ready for them to give you money.
👉 Do your course justice and show up like you mean it. Let your audience see the real you — not just when you’ve got something to sell, but when you’ve got something to say.
Your course may well be the best thing on the internet in your niche, but if someone else is out there showing up daily, building trust, and giving value — they’re the one making the sale. Not because they’re better. Just because they’re visible.
2. You Made It Too Hard to Buy
We need to talk about your tech. Hello, step in to my zone of genius… welcome!
You might think it's all set up perfectly — and maybe it is... from your perspective. But if your sales page is cluttered, confusing, or offering too many choices, you're making it harder for people to say YES.
Too many buttons. Too many options. Too many scrolls. It’s overwhelming, and quite simply - too much like hard work to make a trust-based decision.
Here’s what works better:
A clear, clean sales page with one or two simple options or a limited time deal. That’s it.
THEN use your checkout page for upgrades, add-ons, and offers if you have them.
Guide people through the journey like it’s the easiest decision they’ve made all week.
Your tech shouldn’t be a maze. It should feel like a beautiful, stress-free pathway to transformation (and don’t forget the ‘after’ journey either - great navigation and simplicity shouldn’t stop when they pay you!).
👉 Efficient systems on the back end mean better conversions on the front end. If the journey to buy is clunky, people will quietly exit stage left. And if they make it through the checkout then get lost in your delivery? Expect frustrated users and refund requests.
3. You Skipped the Social Proof
You can shout from the rooftops how life-changing your course is. You can write the most energetic, passionate sales page the world has ever seen. But here’s the annoying truth:
It hits different when someone else says it.
Social proof is your magic wand. If you don’t have testimonials yet, offer your course to a few dream-fit beta users in exchange for honest feedback. Better yet? Invite them to become affiliates and help you spread the word.
People want to hear:
What results did someone else get?
How did they feel during and after the course?
What did they love about working with you?
If you’re lacking this, it doesn’t mean your course isn’t worthy. It just means your future buyers need more confidence — and hearing it from someone else builds that faster than any sales copy you create can.
👉 You don’t need hundreds of testimonials. Start with 2-3 strong, honest ones and build from there (and then show up and tell everyone about them - don’t just keep them hidden on your sales page!)
What Do All Three Have in Common?
They all rely on systems working quietly behind the scenes to make your online business run like my Labrador chasing his favourite ball... focused, joyful and ready to blast through any obstacles that gets in his way.
